Rebecca Makkai is a Chicago-based writer whose first novel, The Borrower, will be published by Viking June, 2011. Her short fiction will appear in The Best American Short Stories this fall for the fourth consecutive year, and appears regularly in several literary journals.
To go along with the release of her Debut Novel, Rebecca needed a new website that more closely matched her aesthetic, would actively promote her novel and provide lots of quality content that would keep her readers coming back. What’s more it was very important that she could maintain the website herself.
We developed a design with a charming, slightly vintage style based on strong typography and colours and built it into a robust website working on the WordPress framework. The site features a full featured blog with micro-blogging features, an events section, a portfolio of her work and lots more. On top of that, we developed the site according to Responsive Design techniques, meaning that the one website adapts its layout to serve it’s content in a way that is attractive and easy to use on any screen size or device.
